Artist Statement
This artwork captures the emotional tension between loneliness and connection. The chosen palette of sepia, tan, dust gray, and faded blue evokes a nostalgic yet melancholic tone. The left side utilizes a dot pattern that emphasizes isolation, while the right exhibits a checker pattern, symbolizing connection and interaction. The vertical split layout creates a stark contrast between these emotional states, while soft edges soften the harshness of the duality. Key collisions occur where the separation blurs, reflecting the innate struggle between hidden and exposed. The presence of broken pixels introduces an element of imperfection, depicting the fragility of connections inherent within societal dynamics. The flow is subtle yet disjointed, inviting reflection on the dualities of existence.
