Artist Statement
This piece captures the emotional tension between vulnerability and strength. The warm tones of burnt orange and dark red symbolize strength and defend against the cool shadows of charcoal, representing vulnerability. The confident, maze-like structure of the strength pattern contrasts with the softer, noise-like quality of vulnerability, manifesting in deliberate disruptions (broken pixels) that punctuate the overall composition. The layout of a nearly enclosed frame signifies safety, while the breaks in the border allow for exposure and the organic flow of emotions. The central collision occurs in the middle, where these opposing forces interact most intensely, creating a visual dialogue of protection and exposure.
