Artist Statement
This piece explores the emotional dichotomy of tenderness and rage, utilizing a palette that contrasts the explosive intensity of red with the soothing calm of pale blue and muted tones of black and white. The dominant color is black, symbolizing rage, which occupies the lower and middle zones of the grid, while patches of gentle blue and white channels weave through to represent tenderness. The layout features notable intersections, where horizontal swathes of gentle color collide with jagged bursts of deeper tones, creating a visual metaphor for emotional conflict and resolution. The use of broken pixels throughout suggests imperfections and complexities inherent in feelings, echoing the theme of guilt and forgiveness. The overall structure speaks to an unresolved tension, allowing the viewer to interpret their personal experience of these emotions.
