Artist Statement
This composition embodies the emotional tug-of-war between the feelings of safety (represented by warm brown and shelter green) and exposure (illustrated through open blue and pale skin). The contrasting colors create a visual dialogue, where the outer border signifies a protective frame while the inner 4x4 grid indicates a more exposed, bark-like structure that disrupts the serene palette. The disrupted pixel structure gives a sense of 'braiding' against a rippling backdrop, echoing the delicate tension between lightness and weight, surprise and comfort.
