Artist Statement
This composition explores the emotional collision between grief and joy, represented by a contrasting palette of deep blues and vibrant yellows. The outer border depicts muted, heavy colors that symbolize grief, while the inner 4x4 section bursts into warm yellows and oranges representing joy. The placement of broken pixels in the grief section adds a fragmented feel, reflecting emotional pressure, whereas the joyful area conveys a sense of expansion and lightness. The asymmetry in color distribution creates tension, eliciting a push and pull between emotions, visually echoing the complexities of human feelings.
