Artist Statement
This piece explores the emotional tension between longing and resolve, using a contrasting palette of calm whites and deep blacks to reflect a struggle between serenity and urgency. The primary collision occurs in the center rows, where the darker tones of longing meet the structure of resolve. Sparing use of broken pixels gives a feeling of interruption, symbolizing repair amidst damage. The split horizontal layout emphasizes this contrast further, separating the emotions yet allowing them to interact subtly around the center.
