Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the duality of fear and hope. The palette of black, dark violet, soft gold, and pale green reflects the emotional clash, with darker colors dominating the upper half, symbolizing fear's weight and jagged edges. In contrast, the bottom half uses soft gold and pale green on a grid pattern, representing hope's rising signal and upward flow. The placement creates a stark vertical contrast, allowing the viewer to feel both the tension and the light. The broken pixels add an element of imperfection, reinforcing the theme of struggle between opposing emotions.
