Artist Statement
This composition embodies the emotional tension between longing and resolve. The palette juxtaposes deep blacks and whites, suggesting a constant battle between absence and presence, warmth and cold. The dominant pattern of longing is represented through the subtle hinge of pale blue interlaced with strong black accents, suggesting the unresolved nature of longing, while the fiery red accents symbolize the moment of resolve, creating energetic bursts across the composition. The main collision occurs diagonally from the bottom left to the top right, capturing a dynamic interplay of feelings. A deliberately left negative space channel at the center allows for quiet introspection, reinforcing the contrasts of density versus emptiness in the overall piece.
