Artist Statement
The emotional tone explores the dichotomy of defiance and submission through a careful color arrangement that embodies conflict and harmony. The chosen palette of pale aqua, mist gray, alarm red, ink blue, and clear white creates a spectrum from calm to urgent, with alarm red representing defiance and the cooler tones suggesting submission. The central collision occurs in the middle two rows where a dense cluster of vibrant reds interrupts softer grays and blues, symbolizing the battle between strength and surrender. The broken pixels provide imperfection, reinforcing the struggle inherent in these emotions, while leaving space for quiet reflection at the corners. Overall, the structured layering reflects a journey from pressure to calm, echoing the themes of the seed in the abstract pattern of color and form.
