Artist Statement
This piece juxtaposes the profound feelings of loneliness and connection through a carefully balanced palette of dark and light colors. The use of deeper shades of black and grey invokes a sense of solitude, while muted whites and pale blues suggest subtle connections that are almost intangible. The arrangement reflects the emotional tension between isolation and the yearning for connection, with prominent bursts of light suggesting moments of engagement within a larger field of solitude. The soft edges create a feeling of transitional space, while negative spacing allows for reflection amidst connection. The collision occurs where the white breaks through, marking the attempt to forge connections amidst the overarching solitude.
