Artist Statement
This square embodies the discord between loneliness and connection through a stark visual dialogue. The palette of black, electric blue, lime, and magenta was chosen to evoke contrasts: black symbolizes depth and isolation, while electric blue and magenta represent bursts of connection amidst quiet spaces. The arrangement emphasizes emotional tension, with overlapping patterns of 'teeth' suggesting fragmentation and 'stairs' colorfully echoing connection. Main contrasts emerge where dark and bright intersect, illustrating conflict and potential unity. The extension of negative space gears the viewer toward introspection, resonating with the seed's sentiments of inner and outer conflict.
