Artist Statement
The emotional tone encapsulates a struggle between desire and emptiness, reflected in the palette choice of saturated hot corals and muted shades like charcoal and hollow blue. The main collision occurs in the vibrant center where desire, represented by a barcode pattern, sharply contrasts with the empty fields, harmonizing with the teeth pattern at the edges that symbolize restraint. This leads to a clear focus in the center while allowing the outer areas to evoke a sense of hollowness, representative of empty spaces. The arrangement of colors creates a rhythmic tension, echoing the seed's themes of overflow and containment, as the bright colors reach toward the borders yet are restrained by darker tones.
