Artist Statement
This piece captures the tension between joy and grief, depicted through a contrasting palette of warm and cool colors. The top half radiates vibrant yellows and oranges, representing joy's brightness, while the bottom is layered in deep blues and muted purples, echoing grief’s heaviness. The noise pattern in the upper section creates a sense of chaotic energy, while the checker pattern in the lower section embodies a structured confinement, enhancing the emotional clash. The layout, starting from the corner and spreading, signifies the invasion of chaos (joy) into a more defined space (grief). Broken pixels add an imperfect quality that enhances the complexity of the emotional narrative.
