Artist Statement
The emotional tone of this artwork balances emptiness and desire, embodied through the treatment of space and color. The palette of navy, black, single white, and dim cyan reflects a lonely signal, contrasting dark and light to symbolize tension and release. The composition follows a corner invasion layout, where layers of color mimic a spiral flow, emphasizing an emotional buildup in the corner of the canvas and releasing towards the center. Broken pixels introduce an element of imperfection, enhancing the notion of a fractured emotional state. The result is a dynamic oscillation between dense color areas and quiet negative space, suggesting a narrative that captures the movement from pressure to a release that feels both beautiful and unresolved.
