Artist Statement
The artwork encapsulates the emotional contrast between relief and dread, with the left side dominated by warm, vibrant tones reminiscent of a flickering flame, representing relief, while the right side is heavily tinged with dark and muted shades to evoke dread. The top-to-bottom layout arrangement emphasizes the weight at the top, creating a sense of looming pressure. The symmetrical patterns on the left punctuate with sparks of gold, while the right maintains a frame-like structure, which represents the conflicts in emotion. Broken pixels introduce unpredictability, symbolizing the contrasts inherent in feelings. Overall, there’s a deliberate collision of warmth and weight, lightness battling against oppression, contained yet eruptive.
