Artist Statement
This artwork conveys an emotional dichotomy between joy (represented by warm yellows and oranges) and grief (deep blues and muted purples). The color palette was chosen to evoke the contrast between the expansive and the heavy. The layout starts from the bottom, representing an ascent towards joy, with the center offering a safe point amidst jagged edges. Broken pixels add a sense of imperfection, enhancing the emotional conflict and suggesting moments of tension and release. The lower section is dense with colors, reflecting grief, while joy begins to break forth diagonally, creating a visual narrative of hope in a fragmented world.
