Artist Statement
This piece embodies the tension between quietness and pressure through the color and spatial arrangement. The color palette of off-white, dust gray, compressed red, dark navy, and faint peach provides a visual narrative of contrasting emotions. The upper rows maintain a quieter tone with soft colors, while the lower rows intensify with darker and more compressed hues, suggesting a buildup of emotional pressure. The collision primarily occurs along the diagonal, where the soft peach unexpectedly meets the harsh red, creating a stark contrast that invites contemplation and conveys disruption. This reflects the seed's essence of contrasting forces, breaking symmetry with breaks and interruptions.
