Artist Statement
This composition juxtaposes light and dark, representing the tension between joy (expanding, rounded) and grief (low, drooping). The palette of yellow and orange for joy, contrasted with deep blue and muted purple for grief, creates a striking emotional pull. The dominant wave of lighter shades in the top half signifies joy while the lower half, filled with darker tones and maze-like patterns, embodies grief. Areas of emptiness invite reflection, and the broken pixels serve to disrupt perfection, embodying the pain and beauty of emotional experiences.
