Artist Statement
This composition embodies the duality of vulnerability and strength, represented by a stark contrast between cool pastel colors and dark muted tones. The top four rows synthesize the fragility of exposure using a 'frame' pattern, where soft blues and a pale mint create a sense of openness and exposure. The bottom four rows introduce the strength through varied 'island' formations in deeper hues, suggesting solid corners of resolve and stability amidst a world of uncertainty. Key tension is constructed at the boundaries where these pixels collide, particularly around the center, creating a strong visual dialogue between the elements of safety and threat. The pattern flows inward, reflecting the turbulence of rising signals amidst an exposed center, aligned with the seed themes and emotional tones.
