Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the emotional tension between softness and severity, reflected in a divided composition. The left half features a patchwork of gentle pinks and whites, creating a flow of warmth and subtlety. This softness is disrupted by the right side's harsh black and crimson accents, symbolizing severity and cold boundaries. The central collision is marked by a blend of pattern types; the smooth patchwork interrupts the rigid cracks of severity, creating an emotional echo. The palette emphasizes the contrast through light versus dark, highlighting various emotional states that intertwine through the design. The presence of broken pixels on the severity side introduces intentional imperfection, maintaining the complexity of feelings like guilt and relief. This visual narrative moves from warmth to a stark pressure, celebrating the balance of opposing emotions.
