Artist Statement
This composition explores the emotional dichotomy of joy and grief, where the top half represents joy with warm, expanding colors and rounded patterns, creating a sense of brightness and optimism. The bottom half, however, embodies grief with a cooler, fragmented palette and a checker pattern, reflecting heaviness and sorrow. The contrasting areas intermingle at the center, creating a rhythmic collision that symbolizes the coexistence of these emotions, while broken pixels add imperfections to enhance the abstract nature and emotional depth.
