Artist Statement
This square embodies the tension between rage and calm through color dynamics and structural contrasts. The palette—deep reds for rage and soft blues and whites for calm—juxtaposes warmth against coolness, creating an emotional pivot at the center. The hot red stripes disrupt the cooler mirrored patterns of the pale blue with intentional breaks, evoking a sense of collision and discord. Eroded symmetry is shown through misaligned intensity, suggesting that calm holds a tentative ground against overwhelming emotion. The design captures an essence of restrained chaos, where the boundaries of each emotion are both defined and breached, forming an abstract narrative of emotional battle.
