Artist Statement
The emotional tone of 'Tension in Tones' conveys the clash between desire and restraint through the use of a palette that juxtaposes saturated hues with muted tones. The vibrant reds and warm creams represent desire, while the cool grays and deep plum denote restraint, embodying the struggle of competing desires within constrained spaces. The main collision occurs centrally, where the warm colors erupt against the cooler boundaries, suggesting burst and retraction. The structured pattern of echoing shapes amidst stepped layers mirrors the conflict of longing against limits, while broken pixels serve as reminders of imperfections and disruptions in this emotional narrative.
