Artist Statement
The emotional tone balances the contrasts of fear and hope, embodying a tension between jagged lines and soft glows. The selected palette—a mixture of deep black, dark violet, soft gold, and pale green—reflects a journey from darkness (fear) into brightness (hope). The dark colors dominate the corners, creating a 'corner-heavy' feel that gives gravity to the piece, while soft gold and pale green intersperse suggesting uplift and tentative hope. Broken dots symbolize moments of hope amid a rain of fear, and the zigzag flow alludes to the dynamics of emotional conflict and the movement towards resolution. The asymmetric layout emphasizes disruption, leaving negative space that suggests areas of unresolved emotions, completing the abstract storytelling.
