Artist Statement
This piece embodies a conflict between defiance and submission, illustrated through a contrasting palette of bright accents and muted fields. The 'pale aqua' and 'alarm red' suggest a vibrant center, symbolizing defiance, while 'mist gray' and 'clear white' form the outer boundaries reflecting submission. A dense cluster of color in the center represents the struggle against collapsing borders which aim to confine it, with broken pixels adding intentional disruptions. This layering of textures creates an abstract narrative of emotional tension, harmonizing chaos and composure.
