Artist Statement
This piece embodies the emotional dichotomy of joy and grief. The bright yellows and oranges at the center represent joy, with a ring pattern suggesting warmth and liveliness. In contrast, muted purples and deep blues mix at the edges, illustrated by a noise pattern that evokes the fragmented nature of grief. The tension lies in the clash between the vibrant center and the somber perimeter, symbolizing the struggle between hope and despair. As the pixels transition from bottom to top, the composition suggests a hopeful rise amid complex emotions, with hard edges enhancing the sense of conflict. Negative space is preserved to facilitate the emotional contrast, allowing the viewer to breathe amidst the chaos.
