Artist Statement
The piece embodies the tension between clarity and cacophony, reflecting the struggle of a coherent signal amidst disruptive noise. The chosen palette of navy, black, single white, and dim cyan serves to illuminate the fragile, bright cluster (signal) against a dark field (noise). The contrast is prominently located at the center of the square, where multiple patterns overlap—crosshatch and quiet field—creating a chaotic yet rhythmic pulse. This collision of structured clarity and disordered interference is guided by the seed, emphasizing themes of exposure versus shelter, representing emotional vulnerability amidst confusion.
