Artist Statement
This composition reflects an emotional tussle between softness and severity. The palette of powder pink, warm white, carbon black, steel gray, and sharp crimson evokes an interplay of gentleness and harshness. The bottom-weighted bands lead the viewer’s eye from delicate colors at the top to more severe shades below, creating an ascending contrast. The main collision lies at the center, where static soft textures of powder pink collide with sharp crimson channels, symbolizing the tension of guilt and forgiveness. The use of broken pixels introduces intentional disruptions, adding complexity to the interaction of bands, effectively capturing the spiral nature of emotional experiences.
