Artist Statement
The emotional tone of this artwork captures a struggle between clarity (signal) and chaos (noise). The palette is composed mostly of deep blues and blacks to signify a shadowy noise, with bright dim cyan and white as accents that punctuate the darkness, representing moments of clear communication or realization. The central pulse of brighter colors rises towards the top, mimicking a hopeful signal that attempts to soar above a fractured, static-strewn lower region. The interplay of noise is represented by the fragmented patterns of darker colors at the bottom, creating a contrast to the beaconing light above, embodying a collision between clarity and distortion while also leaving quiet spaces that allow for contemplation.
