Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the emotional dichotomy of 'longing' versus 'resolve' through a complex interplay of color and patterns. The chosen palette of moss green, bone white, rust, stone gray, and small gold reflects resilience and fragility, emphasizing both strength and vulnerability. The lushness of moss green and the warmth of rust speaks to longing, while the firmness of bone white signifies resolve. In the layout, the checker patterns clash against flowing stripes, creating tension at a central diagonal, symbolizing the struggle between chaos and order. Broken pixels disrupt rigidity, evoking imperfections in both emotion and structure, while maintaining at least 15% negative space to encourage reflection.
