Artist Statement
The emotional tone contrasts dread and relief, represented by a dense upper edge of dark colors bleeding into lighter, more open spaces. The selected palette of pale mint, soft sky, storm gray, near black, and faded gold reflects this juxtaposition. Darker colors accumulate in the corner, symbolizing pressure, while lighter colors create negative space suggesting exhalation and eventual relief. The spiral and crosshatch intuitively guide the viewer’s eye through a narrative of chaotic density transitioning into calmness.
