Artist Statement
This piece embodies the emotional tension between softness and severity, using a palette from 'softness_severity' to evoke contrasting feelings. The warm whites and powder pinks represent softness, while the stark blacks and deep grays signify severity. The collision occurs centrally, where the halo-like severity interrupts the gentle, intertwined braid of softness. The layout echoes horizontal and vertical movements, creating a tension-filled cross-current, accentuated by intentional broken pixels that disrupt the flow and emphasize emotional scars. This abstraction tells a story of exposure and shelter through color and texture, manifesting a push-and-pull dynamic of protective versus vulnerable spaces.
