Artist Statement
This piece captures the push-pull dynamic of defiance and submission through strong contrasts in color and structure. The left half, representing defiance, employs vibrant reds and dark maroons, simulating fiery flames, evoking passion and resistance. The right side, embodying submission, uses softer grays and pale hues arranged in stacks to symbolize layers of yielding and enclosure. The collision in the center, where the red intensity meets the cautious gray, creates a visual tension that reflects the narrative of conflict. Broken pixels disrupt the smoothness of submission, hinting at moments of defiance that pierce through the calm. This layout creates an asymmetric rhythm, evoking an emotional score of struggle and surrender influenced by the seed's concepts.
