Artist Statement
This composition explores the tension between joy and grief, with a central focus that represents the conflicting emotions merging and diverging. Each color choice reflects these moods: vibrant yellows and oranges represent joy and warmth, while deep blues and muted purples evoke feelings of grief and introspection. The sharp contrasts between the bright and muted colors emphasize the emotional collision, particularly in the central rows, creating a visual representation of pulse and impact, with negative space allowing the emotions to breathe and evolve. The left-weighted arrangement and symmetry disrupted by imperfect pixels mirror the push and pull of these complex feelings.
