Artist Statement
This composition explores the tension between quiet and pressure, reflecting a dynamic interplay of dense clusters and open space. The selected palette of off-white, dust gray, compressed red, dark navy, and faint peach embodies the contrasting emotions: quiet tones create a tranquil backdrop, while the deeper colors introduce a sense of compression. The spiral flow illustrates the experience of pressure coiling around an off-center point, leading to a gradual release, represented by the lighter colors diffusing outwards. The organized chaos of broken pixels disrupts the symmetry and lends an element of imperfection, echoing the concept of shattering against the tide. The arrangement evokes feelings of both calm and turmoil, where each color meets and overlaps, signifying their emotional collision.
