This artwork embodies a conflict between defiance and submission through a diagonally split composition. The palette intermingles warm shadows and cool blues, representing tension and calm respectively. The sharp versus soft contrast enhances this interplay, with the 'defiant' crosshatch patterns pushing against the smooth, subdued islands of the 'submissive' color fields.
