Artist Statement
This piece embodies the emotional tension between restlessness and peace through the use of contrasting colors and patterns. The chosen palette of black, dark violet, soft gold, and pale green represents a struggle between the deep shadows of restlessness and the slight warmth of peace. The main collision is found diagonally across the square, where the vibrant soft gold clashes with the darker tones, symbolizing the flicker of hope against a backdrop of turmoil. The layout reflects a mirrored broken composition, signifying both a longing for balance and the imperfections we encounter. The combination of pulse marks and islands in the patterns showcases a dynamic interplay of motion and stasis, echoing the fragmented nature of memory and emotion.
