Artist Statement
This piece explores the emotional duality of fear and hope through an interplay of dark and light hues. The palette of black, dark violet, soft gold, and pale green reflects the oppressive nature of fear while embodying the delicate glimmer of hope. The main collision occurs where the muted blacks and violets clash against the luminous center of soft gold in a ring pattern, suggesting the struggle for light amidst darkness. The crisscrossing patterns symbolize the jagged edges of fear, while the glowing edges on the outer ring evoke rising hope, creating an ambivalent tension throughout the piece.
