Artist Statement
The artwork embodies a dynamic interplay between fear and hope through contrasting colors and textures. The top half utilizes dark hues (black and dark violet) with jagged patterns suggesting the anxiety and chaos associated with fear. The bottom half employs soft gold and pale green to represent hope, using a mirrored pattern to invoke upward movement. The jagged edges clash with the smooth transitions in the lower half, representing the friction between anxiety and optimism. Additionally, scattered broken pixels introduce elements of imperfection, emphasizing the delicate balance between these opposing feelings. The zigzag flow creates an internal tension, mirroring the ups and downs of emotional experience.
