Artist Statement
This composition captures the emotional tension between the concepts of quietness and pressure. The chosen palette of muted off-white and dust-gray contrasts with the vibrant compressed red and dark navy, embodying the push-pull of the emotional states. The top-to-bottom flow creates a sense of heaviness, with the dense pressure represented by the radial pattern in red and navy located on the top half, while the quiet ladder pattern of off-white and faint peach gently leaks through the breaks in the border, creating visual breaks and delicate contrasts. The resulting abstract piece evokes a story of quiet resilience struggling against overwhelming forces, inviting contemplation and emotional reflection.
