Artist Statement
This composition embodies the duality of envy and gratitude, reflected through a split vertical layout where the left represents jealousy (mirroring patterns of lime and electric blue) and the right signifies appreciation (spark patterns in darker hues). The contrasting colors create a tension that is both compelling and unresolved, mirroring the conflicted emotions suggested by the seed. The rising patterns juxtapose against the falling ones, creating dynamic movement and visual interest. The hard edges on the left create a sense of confinement, while the softer right introduces a release, playing into the notion of an empty room that feels filled with potential yet holds onto its void. The use of broken pixels adds an element of imperfection and depth to the emotional narrative.
