Artist Statement
The emotional tone juxtaposes dread, represented by heavy dark shades, and relief, shown through lighter, softer colors. The palette includes storm gray and near black for depth and urgency, while pale mint and faded gold introduce a sense of calm and liberation. The main collision occurs in the lower left corner where dense gray and black overpower the softer tones, creating a pressure point that gradually loosens towards the upper right, symbolizing a release into air. The abstract arrangement of contrasting patterns of maze and crack reflects the struggle and eventual easing of tension.
