Artist Statement
This artwork explores the emotional dichotomy of softness versus severity, manifesting through a contrast of warm and cool colors. The palette features gentle powder pink and warm white against the starkness of carbon black and steel gray, creating a tension that captures the push and pull of these contrasting emotions. The main collision occurs in the top left, where a dense cluster of dark hues meets the subtle brightness of the lighter tones, evoking a sense of unresolved motion. The layout, reminiscent of a last light peeking through a heavy shadow, allows for pockets of quiet space while maintaining a rhythmic density that symbolizes the struggle between guilt and forgiveness. The broken pixels add intentional disruptions, reflecting the imperfections in our journey through these emotions.
