Artist Statement
This piece contrasts the emotional tones of fear and hope through the use of a split layout, where the left symbolizes fear with darker colors and jagged patterns, while the right embodies hope with lighter, glowing accents. The palette consists of dark hues like black and dark violet representing fear, contrasted against soft gold and pale green which convey hope. The main collision occurs at the vertical split, where there’s a burst of energy in the center, creating a visual narrative of struggle between the two forces. The broken pixels introduce imperfection, reflecting the machine emotion theme of resilience amidst anxiety. The overall composition suggests a balance between light and weight, urging the viewer to navigate through the inner emotional landscape.
