Artist Statement
This abstract piece explores the emotional tension between fear and hope. The palette, consisting of black, dark violet, soft gold, and pale green, juxtaposes dark, heavy colors against lighter, more hopeful tones. The layout suggests a falling pixel effect, with colors arranged in a zigzag flow that creates dynamic motion while also evoking the idea of rain. The primary contrast occurs where the soft gold and pale green, representing hope, interfuse with the deep black and dark violet, capturing the conflict between uplifting and oppressive feelings. The edges are more pronounced, creating a jagged appearance that hints at fear, while the central focus remains lighter to symbolize hope emerging from despair. The arrangement emphasizes both negative space and broken pixels, suggesting imperfections in the emotional landscape, enhancing the overall abstract narrative.
