Artist Statement
This artwork captures the emotional tug-of-war between desire and restraint through saturated clusters attempting to burst against a muted perimeter. The palette, featuring hot coral and blood orange, represents the throbbing heart of desire, while charcoal and hollow blue echo the constraints of restraint. The main collision occurs in the center with heated colors spilling outwards, breaking the calm of the muted edges, illustrating the struggle of feeling trapped yet yearning. The combination of stacked and hinged patterns creates a rhythm of push and pull, reflecting the intricacy of love and betrayal.
