Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the tension between tenderness and rage through contrasting patterns and colors. The palette combines deep blacks and reds for rage with softer pale blues and whites for tenderness, creating a visual emotional spectrum. The collision occurs prominently in the center where jagged red fault lines meet the gentler, rounded blue dots, representing the struggle of containing rage within the protective embrace of tenderness. Broken pixels enhance this emotional disturbance, adding disruption to the otherwise soothing flow. Negative space balances the composition, allowing the viewer to breathe amidst the tension, while the overall pattern flows diagonally, suggesting a climb from chaos to calm.
