Artist Statement
The emotional tone revolves around the tension between quietude and pressure, captured through a dense core of dark navy surrounded by patches of faint peach and off-white that symbolize moments of clarity. The palette is intentionally chosen to reflect this duality, where dark navy represents the heaviness of pressure and faint peach acts as a liberating soft tone. The main contrast occurs at the center where dark tones sharply interrupt lighter areas, mimicking the feeling of pressure breaking free. This shattering edge effect drives the abstract pattern forward, providing a sense of dynamic tension while remaining rooted in abstraction, as the tension flows diagonally across the square, suggesting both movement and pausing moments in the rhythm of emotion.
