Artist Statement
This composition reflects the emotional contrast between the fleeting nature of 'spark' and the residual essence of 'ash.' The palette of sepia, tan, dust gray, and faded blue captures a sense of warmth against the muted coolness of memory and decay. The predominant theme of resilience occupies the center, while features of fragility and erasure surface at the edges, establishing a tension between vitality and stillness. The jagged edges represent emotional scars, creating a sense of disruption through the deliberate placement of broken pixels. This square tells a story of life’s transient sparks against the backdrop of what remains.
