Artist Statement
This artwork encapsulates the emotional struggle between desire and restraint, using a palette that juxtaposes warm, saturated tones against muted, cooler shades. The main collision occurs in the center, where vibrant colors break into an otherwise restrained field, creating a dialogue between impulse and limitation. The spiral-like arrangement of warm coral and blood-orange hints at a surge of desire, while the cooler charcoal and hollow blue form a lattice structure that symbolizes the boundaries imposed by restraint. Broken pixels throughout represent moments of disruption, enhancing the theme of conflict and unresolved emotion.
